Six pilots are assigned to the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Team. The team is equipped with equipment that enables them to conduct flights both inside of buildings and outdoors. Having the capability to fly both inside and outside enhances the level of safety we can provide to the citizens of Dane County as well as to law enforcement personnel.
Deployment standards are governed by the Sheriff’s Office Policy and Procedures with final authorization required by the Program Administrator or their designee. Deployments that fall outside of policy and procedures are authorized on a case by case basis.
