At approximately 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12th, the Dane County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle hit and run crash on STH 113 at CTH M in the Town of Westport. The suspect vehicle was traveling northbound on STH 113 when it deviated to the left, crossing over the grass median and into the southbound lanes of STH 113, where it struck another vehicle that was traveling southbound on STH 113. The driver of the suspect vehicle fled the scene on foot. The driver of the second vehicle, Eugene A. Urso, age 80 of Monona, was transported to U.W. Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect, Tony S. Leas, age 41, of Waunakee, was later located at his residence and determined to be under the influence of intoxicants. Leas was arrested for OWI 8thOffense, Causing Injury. He was booked into the Dane County Jail on the felony charge.
