At 2:36 p.m., Dane County Sheriff’s Office deputies, along with Sun Prairie Fire and EMS, and Med Flight were dispatched to the intersection of County Highway C and Vinburn Road in the Town of Windsor for a one-vehicle crash with injuries.

A 1999 Oldsmobile Alero, driven by Sarah R. Krainik, 20, of Deforest was traveling south on County Highway C when she lost control of the vehicle causing it to rollover.  Krainik’s passenger, Danielle N. Blundon, 20 of Sun Prairie, was ejected from the vehicle.

Blundon, who was not wearing her seatbelt, was transported to U.W. Hospital, via Med Flight, with serious injuries.  Krainik, who was wearing her seatbelt, was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries.

Krainik was arrested for Possession of THC (2nd Offense) and Causing Injury by Intoxicated Use of a Motor Vehicle.

At approximately 5:30 p.m. Deputies responded to County Highway V and Patton Road, Town of Vienna for another crash.  A 1999 Pontiac Grand Am, driven by Jenna L. Schwenn, 16, of Dane, was traveling west on County Highway V.  Schwenn drove onto the gravel shoulder.  When she attempted to get back on the roadway she overcorrected, lost control, and left the roadway.  The vehicle came to rest ten feet off the roadway in four feet of water.  This section of roadway was reopened today after being closed for several weeks due to flooding.

Schwenn did not report any injures. She was wearing a seatbelt.  She was cited for Failure to Maintain Control.
