Daytime Burglary Alert

The Dane County Sheriff’s Office wants to notify residents in the northwest portion of Dane County of recent daytime burglaries. Over the past eight days, the Sheriff’s Office has investigated four residential daytime burglaries in the townships of Roxbury and Dane. The burglaries have all occurred between the hours of 10:00 am and 4:00 pm, and the perpetrators have been entering homes through force, if necessary. In an added effort to alert residents of these two townships about the burglaries and potential risks, the Dane County Sheriff’s Office will be issuing a Reverse 911 call to homes in the area. The calls will begin circulating at approximately 5:00 pm and will reach 2176 homes. As in the reverse 911 message, the Sheriff’s Office is asking residents to be aware of any suspicious activity in their neighborhood. If you witness any suspicious persons or vehicles, please note a description, including vehicle make, color, and/or license plate. If you witness suspicious activity, call 911.
