Dane County Jail Inmate Declared AWOL - Update

Madison, WI – March 11, 2009 On March 11, 2009, Joshua D. Johnson, an inmate in the Dane County Jail, failed to return to the Public Safety Building after being released to attend school at MATC at 4:30 p.m. Johnson is described as a 17-year old white male, approximately 5’11” tall and weighing approximately 165 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes. Records indicate Johnson has a last known address in Stoughton, WI. At the time Johnson went AWOL, he was serving two sentences, with work release, for Burglary and Escape. Anyone with information on Johnson’s whereabouts is asked to call 911. ****UPDATE**** Johnson returned to the Dane County Jail at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 12 after he was arrested by the Fitchburg Police Department following a traffic stop. He is now facing an additional charge of Resisting after he attempted flee on foot from the Fitchburg Officers. An Escape Charge was also requested from the District Attorney's Office as a result of Johnson going AWOL.
