100 Year Old Barn Destroyed by Fire

Madison, WI. Wednesday, December 10, 2008 At 2:48 p.m., Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with Deerfield and Cambridge Fire Departments, responded to 3012 State Highway 134, in the Town of Christiana, for a barn fire. The barn was fully engulfed in flames when units arrived on scene. The 40’ x 60’ two-story barn, built in 1902, contained miscellaneous farm machinery and equipment. The building and property inside were destroyed by the fire and estimated at approximately $60,000. No one was injured in the fire. The exact cause of the fire is not known at this time but does not appear to be suspicious and remains under investigation.
