Sheriff's Office

The Dane County Sheriff’s Office wants to inform motorists of possible traffic delays around the Dane County Coliseum on Tuesday, February 17th. A troop send-off for approximately 3200 soldiers of the Wisconsin National Guard’s 32nd Brigade is planned from noon until about 2:00 pm. At 2:00 pm, approximately 80 buses will depart from the coliseum via Olin Avenue and John Nolan Drive. Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies will be directing traffic out of the coliseum. The majority of the traffic is expected to go eastbound on Highway 12/18, which may cause some congestion and delays. The Sheriff’s Office suggests motorists avoid this area tomorrow afternoon, or, allow extra time to reach your destination. This is the largest deployment of reservists from Wisconsin since WWII. The event is NOT open to the public. Only individuals with tickets will be allowed in to the event. Wisconsin Public Television, along with several radio stations, will be airing the program live. ###
