Driver Dies of Medical Condition

Madison, WI: December 24th, 2008 - At approximately 4:48 p.m., Deputies from the Dane County Sheriff's Office along with McFarland Fire and EMS reponded to what was initially reported to be a single vehicle crash on CTH B west of Keenan Road in the Town of Dunn. As passing motorists stopped to render aid, the vehicle ignited in flames. The driver, a 65 year old man from Stoughton, was pulled from the vehicle and CPR was performed. Life saving measures were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead on scene. Preliminary indications are that the driver had a medical event prior to leaving the roadway. The Dane County Sheriff's Office is continuing the investigation into the crash. The name of the driver is being withheld pending the notification of family members.
