Head-On Crash Injures Two

Madison, WI: Saturday, October 18, 2008 At 2:58 am, Dane County Sheriff's Deputies, along with Fitchrona EMS and Verona Fire Department, responded to a report of a two-car head-on crash. The crash occurred on CTH M near Davis Hill Road, in the Town of Verona. The investigation revealed Evie J. K. Allen, age 20, of Oregon, was traveling eastbound on CTH M, in her 1998 Mercury Mystic. Allen's vehicle crossed over the centerline of the road, and into the path of an oncoming 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse traveling westbound on CTH M, which was operated by Julie J. Booth, age 30, of Verona. Allen was pinned in her vehicle and had to be extricated by the Verona Fire Department. Allen, who sustained serious, life-threatening injuries, was transported to an area hospital for treatement. Allen is tentatively charged with Causing Injury by OWI. Booth, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained serious, non life-threatening injuries, and was also transported to an area hospital for treatment. Booth is tentatively charged with OWI - 2nd Offense. The Dane County Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstructionists were called in to assist with the investigation.
