Single Vehicle Crash Leaves McFarland Man Dead

December 9, 2008. Madison, WI – At approximately 3:30 p.m., Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with McFarland, Cottage Grove and Madison EMS crews, responded to a single-vehicle crash on CTH MN, at the intersection of Williams Drive, in the Town of Pleasant Springs. A passing motorist observed a 2005 Dodge Caravan up against a tree at this intersection. It appears the driver was traveling westbound on CTH MN, left the roadway and struck a tree. Soon after Deputies and EMS crews arrived on scene, the driver went PNB. The victim, a 30 year-old man from McFarland, was subsequently transported to the University of Wisconsin Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver was wearing his seatbelt and the airbag did deploy. His name is being withheld pending the notification of family members. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash. The cause of this crash remains under investigation. ###
