Montello Man Arrested for 5th OWI Offense

Madison, WI: November 3, 2008. The Dane County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Montello man Sunday night for his 5th offense of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated. A concerned citizen observed Jansen E. Thorsen, 39, at the Pine Cone restaurant in the Town of Burke. They believed Thorsen might be intoxicated and about to drive a vehicle. The concerned citizen then called 911. Deputies received a description of the vehicle, and located it within minutes. The vehicle was stopped at USH 51 and Hollum Rd, where Thorsen was arrested. Thorsen was booked into the Dane County Jail on a felony charge of Operating While Intoxicated. Citizens assist law enforcement everyday with notification of traffic violations and possible intoxicated drivers by use of cell phones.
