Kountry Keg Tavern Robbed at Gunpoint

Madison, WI: October 13, 2008 At 1:55 am, Dane County Sheriff's Office Deputies were dispatched to the Kountry Keg Tavern, 6259 Portage Road, in the Town of Burke, for an armed robbery. Sun Prairie Police Officers in the immediate area also responded to this call. Witnesses and employees at the bar reported two white males, wearing masks covering their faces, entered the bar with handguns and ordered the patrons and bartender to lie on the floor. After taking an undisclosed amount of cash, the two robbers fled from the bar on foot. None of the patrons or bartender were injured during the robbery. A Madison Police Officer and his partner, responded to the tavern to assist with a track of the suspects, however the track ended a short distance from the tavern without locating the suspects. The descriptions of the two suspects are as follows: Suspect #1 - M/W, 5"08" to 5'10" tall, thin build 150-160 pounds, wearing a dark colored hoodie and dark colored jeans. This suspect had a cloth covering his face and displayed a silver colored handgun. Suspect #2 - M/W, 5'10" to 6'00" tall, heavy build 230-250 pounds, wearing a dark colored hoodie and light colored tan shorts. This suspect also had a cloth covering his face and displayed a black semi-automatic handgun. The Dane County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the robbery.
