Update on Town of Vienna Hit and Run

Dane County Sheriff’s Detectives have identified a person of interest in the Hit and Run that occurred on State Highway 113 in the town of Vienna on Sunday, February 10th. Last night detectives interviewed the driver, a 23-year-old man from Waunakee, who is believed to be responsible for the Hit and Run of 37-year-old Timothy Z. Brekke of Waunakee. Detectives have also interviewed a 27-year-old man from Madison, who was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the crash. A 1995 Toyota Avalon has been impounded as part of the investigation and will be examined by the state crime lab. Alcohol was a contributing factor in the incident. The results of the investigation will be forwarded to the Dane County District Attorney’s Office for their review. Timothy Brekke remains hospitalized with serious injuries. ###
