Two-Vehicle Injury Crash

Madison, WI: Friday, September 12, 2008 At 5:49 p.m. Dane County Sheriff's Deputies, Mazomanie and Cross Plains Fire, along with Mazomanie, Cross Plains, and Middleton EMS, responded to USH 14, .4 miles east of Scherbel Road, in the Town of Cross Plains, for a two-vehicle crash with injuries. A preliminary investigation indicates that a Chevrolet Cavalier was traveling eastbound on USH 14 and crossed over the center line into the westbound lane. A Saturn ION traveling westbound attempted to take evasive action by going into the eastbound lane. The driver of the Cavalier corrected his actions, returning to the eastbound lane and crashed into the Saturn. The driver of the Saturn has suffered serious injuries. That driver's passenger and the driver of the Cavalier have minor injuries. No names are being released at this time. This crash remains under investigation by the Dane County Sheriff's Office.
