Sheriff Mahoney Welcomes Eleven New Deputies

On Monday, September 15th at 9:00 am, Dane County Sheriff David Mahoney will swear in eleven new Dane County Deputies. The ceremony will take place in the Public Safety Building located at 115 W. Doty Street in Madison. “I am proud to introduce the newest members of the Dane County Sheriff’s Office. They bring an array of education, experience, and enthusiasm that’s necessary to succeed in a career in law enforcement,” said Sheriff Mahoney. · Nate Abrams, age 26 of Fitchburg, WI · Anthony Hamilton, age 32 of Brooklyn, WI · Curtis Laffin, age 24 of Wausau, WI · Joseph Cuta, age 25 of Oregon, WI · Luke Deibele, age 23 of Kiel, WI · Jason Jaeger, age 23 of Merrill, WI · Brian Freischmidt, age 47 of Deforest, WI · Daniel Snider, age 22 of Flint, MI · James Bourne, age 23 of Milwaukee, WI · Michael Wells, age 29 of Oregon, WI · Daniel Feeney, age 23 of Janesville, WI This day marks the start of a 23-week training program the new deputies will receive before they fill their first work assignment in the Dane County Jail. The training includes a thirteen-week basic law enforcement academy and a four-week jail officer academy. They will serve a two-year probationary period. The Dane County Sheriff’s Office continually recruits for deputy and civilian positions to fill vacancies as they occur. Applications can be found online at www.danesheriff.com.
