“Be Prepared” is the theme of the Dane County Triad’s Crime Prevention and Safety Expo. The event will take place on Tuesday, September 9th at Blackhawk Church, located at 9620 Brader Way (1.5 miles west of the west beltline off Mineral Point Road). All community members are invited to this one-day conference that includes speakers, workshops, and resource tables providing valuable information on topics related to crime prevention and safety. The conference will open at 8:00 am with refreshments and resource tables. At 9:00 am, Dane County’s Chief Deputy Sheriff Ron Boylan and Chief Noble Wray of the Madison Police Department will welcome attendees. The conference’s keynote speaker is Judge W.E. Hanrahan of the Dane County Circuit Court. Throughout the day participants will be able to choose breakout sessions where they will be presented information on topics such as consumer protection, home repairs, Neighborhood Watch programs, travel, and juvenile gangs among others. The cost to attend is $12.00 for the general public and $25.00 for professionals. Registration is available the day of the event, and lunch is included with the registration fee. Sponsors of the 6th annual Crime Prevention and Safety Expo are the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, the Madison Police Department, Dane County Department of Human Services, St. Mary’s Hospital, the City of Madison Fire Department and RSVP of Dane County. ###
