Reverse 911

At 5:00 pm today, a Reverse 911 call will go out to 409 residents in the towns of Cottage Grove and Medina. The 30-second message will notify residents of the Safe Harbor Motorcycle Ride for Children, scheduled to travel through Cottage Grove and Medina, in addition to other areas of Dane and Columbia Counties, on Saturday, August 16th. The ride will depart from Capital City Harley-Davidson at 11:00 am and will finish at Quaker Steak and Lube at approximately 3:00 pm. With around 150 motorcyclists expected to participate, the event may cause some traffic delays. By issuing the Reverse 911 message, the Dane County Sheriff’s Office hopes to alleviate potential traffic problems related to the event. The technology of Dane County’s Reverse 911 system will allow the notification to reach over 400 residents in less than 30 minutes. ###
