Two-Vehicle Fatality Crash

Madison, WI. 8/6/08 – At approximately 4:10 pm, the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, Mt. Horeb and Blue Mounds Police, along with Mt. Horeb Fire and EMS, responded to a two-vehicle crash. The crash occurred on U.S. Highway 18/151, 3/10 of a mile west of Springdale Center Road, in the Town of Springdale. The initial investigation indicates a 2000 Daewoo Nubira was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 18/151. A 2004 Chrysler 300-M was traveling eastbound. The Daewoo veered into the median causing the vehicle to overturn and ultimately land on the Chrysler 300-M. The driver and two passengers of the Daewoo were pronounced deceased at the crash scene. The operator, and sole occupant, of the Chrysler 300-M was transported by med-flight to U.W. Hospital with serious injuries. Eastbound U.S. Highway 18/151 was closed for approximately four hours. This crash remains under investigation. The names are being withheld pending notification of relatives. The Sheriff’s Office is seeking information from anyone that may have witnessed the crash or events leading up to the crash. Two possible witness vehicles were described as a dark blue mid-size SUV and a white pick-up truck. The Sheriff’s Office is interested in speaking with the drivers of these two vehicles.
