An Inmate of the Dane County Jail is AWOL - UPDATE

Madison, WI. – June 21, 2008 On June 21, 2008, Sean Maurice Shanks, an inmate from the Dane County Jail, failed to return to the Dane County William H. Ferris, Jr. Center, Huber facility. He was scheduled to return at 5:30 pm and failed to do so. He was declared AWOL at that time. At the time Shanks went AWOL, he was serving a 80-day sentence with work release for Knowingly Fleeing an Officer. He was last seen in the Waunakee area in a 2005 – 2008 gray Toyota 4-Runner, plate unknown. Sharks is described as a 18-year old black male, 6’03” tall and weighing 220 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He also has a scar on his left arm. Anyone with information on Shanks’ whereabouts is asked to call 911. **UPDATE** On 6/21/08, at approximately 10:02 pm, the Dane County Sheriff’s Office was notified that Shanks had returned home. Deputies, along with Waunakee P.D., responded to the residence in Waunakee and apprehended Shanks without incident. Shanks is currently back in the Dane County Jail.
