Sheriff's Office

After 9 ½ years (that’s well over 65 in dog years), K-9 Indy and his handler Deputy Keith Kelly are preparing for Indy’s retirement from law enforcement. Indy is a Belgian Malanois born in Holland, who works patrol and specializes in narcotics detection. Throughout his career with the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, Indy has completed over 500 drug sniffs, over 150 tracks, and over 50 building and area searches. In addition, Indy and his handler Deputy Keith Kelly have provided over 100 public demonstrations. With Indy’s retirement planned for later this year, the Dane County K-9 Unit will need to raise funds to purchase a new patrol dog which could cost up to $10,000. Starting June 16th, Pizza Hut, Mounds Pet Food Warehouse, and PDQ stores will be selling coupon books for $10 each to help raise funds for the new dog. The fundraiser will run through Sunday July 6th. Press Conference Monday, June 16th 10:00 AM Sheriff’s Office West Precinct 7555 W. Old Sauk Road Middleton, WI For more information on how to support the Dane County K-9 Unit, visit their website at www.danecountyk9.org. ###
