An Inmate of the Dane County Jail is AWOL

Madison, WI – May 11, 2008 On May 11, 2008, Gary Lee Nelson Jr., an inmate in the Dane County Jail, failed to return to the Dane County Public Safety Building Jail after being released for a medical appointment. Nelson was released from the Jail at 2:20 p.m. for the appointment. The Dane County Deputy following up with the medical facility regarding the appointment, subsequently learned that Nelson did not attend the appointment. Nelson was declared AWOL at 3:50 p.m. on May 11, 2008. At the time Nelson went AWOL, he was serving a 90-day sentence with work release for Theft. A warrant has been issued for his arrest. Anyone with information on Nelson’s whereabouts is asked to call 911. Nelson is described as a 22-year old white male, 5’11” tall and weighing 179 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes. He has a tattoo of a blue cross on his upper left arm , “THAYDEN” tattooed on his inner right forearm, and a tattoo of a six-point star on his upper right arm. He also uses the names of Joshua L. Humbach and Tyler Deurloo. He has ties to the Williamson Street Area.
