TREE CUTTING LEADS TO DEATH OF BLUE MOUNDS MAN

Madison, WI: At approximately 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 Dane County Deputies responded to 9950 Blue Valley Road, Town of Blue Mounds for a report of man injured in a tree cutting accident. James V. Robertson, age 58 from Blue Mounds, was attempting to cut down a tree with three other people. Robertson was using a tractor to pull the tree up hill to control where the tree landed. When the tree fell it broke off a branch from another tree. This branch fell and struck Robertson in the head. Med Flight responded but rescue efforts were unsuccessful. Robertson was pronounced dead at the scene.
