Structure Fire in Town of Rutland Destroys Home

Madison, WI: March 11, 2008 At 4:27 am, Dane County Sheriff's Deputies, along with Oregon, Stoughton, Brooklyn, Fitchburg, Verona, Town of Madison, McFarland, Blooming Grove, and Belleville Fire Departments, responded to 611 Oak Ridge Road, in the Town of Rutland, for a report of a fire on the second floor of the residence. The first arriving Deputy reported the second floor of the residence was fully engulfed in flames. The homeowner, Robert Hintz, reported noticing flames emitting from the attic and roof of the home. Hintz alerted his wife Sherry, who was asleep in a second floor bedroom, and both were able to evacuate prior to the house becoming fully engulfed. The home, which is valued at $800,000, was completely destroyed. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation. # # # # # # # # #
