Madison, WI. February 29, 2008 On Friday, February 29, at approximately 7:23pm., the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, along with McFarland Fire & EMS, Cottage Grove, Blooming Grove, Stoughton, Oregon, and Edgerton Fire Departments responded to a structure fire at a residence on West Star Road in the Town of Pleasant Springs. A fire started in the detached garage where a vehicle was being worked on. The garage became fully engulfed and was a total loss. The garage was estimated at approximately $35,000 not including the contents inside. One of the residents was treated for smoke inhalation and released at the scene. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office and McFarland Fire Department.
