Waunakee Man Arrested on Child Abuse Charges -Update

Madison, WI. February 13, 2008 – Dane County Sheriff’s Detectives have arrested David A. Roberts, age 20 of Waunakee, on 1 count of Physical Abuse of a Child. Waunakee Police and Waunakee EMS responded to a residence on Knightsbridge Road in Waunakee yesterday at approximately 9:30 am, after the infants mother called 911. The 3-month-old male was immediately transported by Waunakee EMS to the University of Wisconsin Hospital Emergency Room. At this time the baby remains in the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Roberts is being held in the Dane County Jail. The victim in this incident has passed away. The 3 month old biological son of David Roberts, was pronounced dead at 2:09 p.m. at UW Hospital. The Dane County Sheriff’s Office, Dane County Coroner’s Office and Waunakee Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
