Sheriff’s Office Offering Gang Education for Parents

Madison, WI. November 30, 2007 – The Dane County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin Heights Optimist Club are sponsoring a “Gangs 101” presentation at Wisconsin Heights Middle School on Tuesday, December 4th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Gang Detective Joel Wagner from the Dane County Sheriff’s Office will cover the basics of why individuals join gangs, the individuals who make up the gangs, and the gangs that are currently present in Dane County. The course will also cover gang identification, gang names, graffiti, colors, and common identifiers, signs, and symbols. The presentation will take place in the middle school step room, and FREE pizza will be provided by the Wisconsin Heights Optimist Club from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. This presentation if for adults only, however childcare will be provided.
