The Annual Hunter’s Sight-In Program November 3rd thru November 16th

October 8, 2007. Madison, WI - The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the annual Hunter’s Sight-In Program. The program starts Saturday, November 3rd, and will run through Friday, November 16th. Area hunters can prepare for the yearly Wisconsin deer hunt by sighting in their shotguns, rifles, and pistols in a safe environment at the Dane County Law Enforcement Training Center. The Training Center is located between Interstate 90/94 and Waunakee at 5184 State Highway 19. No appointment is necessary. The facility is open to the public between the hours of 8:30 am and 3:30 pm daily. Citizens may only bring firearms that are legal for use in hunting deer in Wisconsin. Experienced instructors will be on hand to provide assistance in sighting and adjusting of firearms. There is a fee of $10.00 for the first gun and $5.00 for each additional gun. Hearing and eye protection is mandatory and will be provided, but you may also use your own. Hunters will also be able to receive information on hunting laws, regulations and gun safety. An additional resource being offered for the fist time is on-site health screening offered by Meriter Hospital. Additional Information may be obtained by contacting training center staff at 849-2662.
