At 6:50 p.m. Dane County Sheriff’s Office Deputies along with Waunakee EMS and Fire Department responded to a Motor Vehicle versus deer crash on CTH K, approximately 2/10 of a mile west of CTH Q in the Town of Westport. A 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme was found off the road in the ditch East bound on CTH K. The vehicle had obviously struck a deer. The deer went through the windshield and was dead inside the vehicle. The driver, a 53-year-old Madison woman, was the only occupant of the vehicle and was transported to UW Hospital by Med Flight for serious injuries. The Driver was not wearing a seatbelt and has a revoked license. Her name is being withheld due to the severity of her injuries and notification of family members. There does not appear to be any impairment on the part of the driver that could have stopped this crash from occurring.
