Fatal Traffic Crash

One person has died after a three-vehicle crash on State Highway 19 in the town of Medina overnight. 
Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to STH 19 and Weidemann Drive at 12:24 a.m. The Sheriff’s Office crash reconstruction team, the Crime Scene Unit, and UW Med-Flight also responded to the scene. Investigators are still working to determine the sequence of events. 
A 56-year-old driver of a Ford Fusion was treated by EMS at the scene and released, while two other drivers were admitted to a local hospital with serious injuries. The passenger of a Nissan Altima was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office. 
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash. We will provide additional details as more information becomes available.
