Felony OWI Arrest

A Windsor man was arrested Tuesday on a felony OWI charge after he hit a dump truck head-on.  Dane County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash on State Highway 19 at Forrest Park at 1:19 pm.
Jeffrey C. Swenson, age 55 of Windsor, admitted to looking at his phone prior to the crash. A witness reported seeing his Honda Pilot cross the center line and hit an eastbound dump truck, sending the SUV spinning out of control. After Swenson failed field sobriety testing, he was transported to a local hospital for a blood sample and medical examination. 
Swenson was arrested for OWI – 5th offense, and cited for open intoxicants, inattentive driving, and operating left of center. He is currently being held in the Dane County Jail.
