Vehicle Struck by Gunfire

The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a case of road rage that resulted in gunfire in the town of Cottage Grove.

On Friday, January 3rd, just after 11:00 pm, a family of 3 was driving home from a night out. They were eastbound on State Highway 12 when they passed an older model black Honda CR-V just before the highway dropped to a two-lane road. As they passed, someone in the Honda CR-V fired a handgun through their front passenger-side window. The bullet narrowly missed the two people in the front seat. 

The Sheriff’s Office is asking for assistance in identifying the black Honda and its occupants. The drivers-side window of the Honda CR-V may have been damaged during the incident.
