Village of Windsor Fatality Crash

 

 

Madison, WI.  Sunday, November 3, 2024

 

At approximately 11:19am Dane County Sheriff’s Office deputies, along with units from the Deforest PD, Wisconsin State Patrol and Deforest Fire and EMS responded to USH 51 just south of DM in the Village of Windsor for a report of an injury accident. 

 

The preliminary investigation indicates that two vehicles were northbound on USH 51, when one vehicle driven by a 43 year old male crashed into the other vehicle driven by a 23 year old male pushing it into the southbound lane. This vehicle was then struck by a vehicle driven by a 67 year old male driving southbound on USH 51. The male driver of the vehicle traveling southbound on USH 51 did not sustain any injuries. The 43 year old male of the northbound vehicle was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The 23 year old male driver was pronounced deceased at the scene and his 23 year old female passenger was pronounced at the hospital. They were both occupants of the vehicle pushed into the southbound lane.

 

The identities of the deceased will be released by the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office at a later date.

 

Both lanes of USH 51 between CTH DM  and CTH V were closed while deputies along with crash reconstructionist investigated the crash.
