Sheriff's Response to Trump Rally Shooting

Based on the initial reports out of Butler, Pennsylvania, there is no place for violence against an elected official or their families.  No matter our political differences, we are a civilized society and effect change through the ballet box not bullets.  I am grateful former President Donald Trump was not seriously injured and send my condolences to the victims of this incident. 

God bless all of the first responders, state, local and federal law enforcement agencies for their heroic actions preventing further violence and loss of life.

The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is committed to public safety for all members of our community and have dedicated available staff and resources to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for the Republican National Convention next week.
