Fatal Crash

At approximately 9:40 am, Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies and EMS responded to a crash involving an SUV and a semi-truck on Highway 14 and Old Stage Road in the town of Rutland.

Witnesses reported that the SUV’s driver was west on Old Stage Road when she pulled out in front of the semi-truck, traveling north on Highway 14. The SUV driver was found unresponsive, and she was pronounced deceased at the scene. The semi-truck driver was not injured.

Traffic will be rerouted for several hours to allow crash investigators to reconstruct the crash and collect evidence. The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after notifying the family.
