The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is welcoming a new class of deputies. Seventeen deputies, the largest group we’ve seen in some time, will be sworn in by Sheriff Kalvin Barrett on Friday, March 29th, at 1:30 pm in the Dane County Courthouse, Jury Assembly Room. They are:

· Cole E. Cribbs, 21 of Cross Plains

The group brings various experiences and backgrounds to the Sheriff’s Office, several with previous law enforcement experience. Depending on their prior level of training, new deputies will attend the Dane County Sheriff’s Office Jail and/or Law Enforcement Academies and receive on-the-job training. Their first assignment will be in the Dane County Jail, where they will serve a two-year probationary period. The positions became available due to retirements and vacancies that occurred in the past year. The Dane County Sheriff’s Office continually recruits for deputy and civilian positions to fill vacancies as they happen. Applications can be found online at www.teamdane.com. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.
