Woman Seriously Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash

Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested a Waunakee man on felony OWI charges after a two-vehicle crash in the town of Springfield.

Deputies responded to the crash at 3:43 pm on Sunday. Abhishek Singh, age 44, was traveling eastbound on HWY 19 when his Mercedes crossed the centerline, hitting a westbound Nissan Versa. operated by a 63-year-old woman from Sun Prairie. She had to be extricated from the Nissan, and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Singh and his passenger were also transported to the hospital with minor injuries. He is tentatively charged with Operating While Intoxicated with a passenger under the age of 16 years and 2nd Degree Reckless Endangerment. He also received multiple citations. Singh is currently being held in the Dane County Jail. The crash remains under investigation by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.
