At approximately 12:30 am, Dane County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two males after they tried to elude police in a stolen Mercedes Benz.
A Madison Police Officer first saw the Mercedes on the east side of Madison, near Portage Road. A short time later, a Sheriff’s deputy spotted the vehicle on CTH M and began to follow it, while other deputies positioned themselves to potentially deploy road spikes. As the Mercedes traveled on CTH K near US Highway 12, a deputy was able to successfully use the road spikes. The driver of the Mercedes continued on until the deflated tires forced him to stop on the off-ramp to Airport Road, at which time one of the occupants ran from the car. He was quickly apprehended by deputies with the assistance of a Middleton Police Officer.
A 16-year-old male from Fitchburg was arrested on tentative charges of OMWOC, Eluding, and other outstanding warrants, including Felony Bail Jumping.
Demetrius Lloyd, age 19 of Madison, was booked into the Dane County Jail on a tentative charge of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Owner's Consent (OMWOC).
