Fatal Crash

The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Sunday, October 29th, on CTH PB, just north of Purcell Road in the town of Verona.
Just after 11:00 a.m., a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by Bradley C. Kelly, was traveling southbound on CTH PB when a northbound 2016 Toyota Rav4 operated by Rachel S. Kruse, turned left into a driveway and was struck by the Jeep, causing the Jeep to lose control and roll several times.
Mr. Kelly, age 47 of Madison, was transported by EMS to UW Hospital with serious injuries. A 39-year-old female passenger in the Jeep was also transported to the hospital, where she later died. Ms. Kruse, age 46 of Oregon, was not injured in the crash.
CTH PB was closed for approximately 3 hours while deputies conducted their investigation. Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in the crash. The identity of the woman who died will be released by the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and citations are pending.
