Town of Montrose Structure Fire

At approximately 6:09pm on Monday, March 21, 2022, Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with Fire Departments from Belleville, Fitchburg, Monticello, New Glarus, Oregon and Verona responded to a structure fire in the 6700 block of Purcell Rd. in the Town of Montrose.

The two-story, 12x20 barn is considered to be a total loss.  No animals were injured.  The damage is estimated to be approximately $30,000.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time but it does not appear to be suspicious.
