Money Transactions

How can I drop off money for someone in jail?

Family and friends of inmates housed at the Rock County Jail are able to deposit funds into inmate commissary accounts utilizing the Kiosk Payment Acceptor located in the lobby of the Rock County Jail. The kiosk assists family and friends by eliminating the need to contact the Central Control officer. It immediately deposits the money into the inmate's account avoiding delays during holidays or weekends and making the money readily available for commissary purchases. Any monies deposited will be subject to the normal collections for debts owed to the Rock County Jail by the inmate.

The automated payment kiosk accepts United States currency in 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 US denominations, debit cards, and credit cards for funding Jail resident Cobra Banker accounts. Deposits may be made in the lobby area seven days a week, 24 hours a day. The first article of currency inserted into the machine MUST be a denomination of $5.00 or higher. There is a $3.00 convenience fee for utilizing the lobby kiosk. The fee will be deducted from the amount deposited into the inmate's account for cash transactions.

The Lobby Kiosk

  • Family and friends will have to know the Inmate's Rock County Jail inmate number and full, correct name to deposit funds.
  • Funds deposited will be immediately credited to the inmate's account.
  • A receipt will be issued from the Kiosk to the person depositing the funds.
  • If there is an issue with a deposit, please notify staff and they will contact the vendor.

Family and friends of inmates are also able to deposit money into an inmate's account online at Inmate Deposit.

Can you give a message to my friend/loved one?

The Rock County Jail does not routinely accept telephone messages for inmates. If you have an emergency message (death in the family, major illness) that can be verified, we will make every attempt to pass the message on in a timely manner.
