The Village of Black Earth contracts with the Dane County Sheriff's Office for law enforcement services. Two deputies are assigned to work full time in the Village.

In addition to working patrol and conducting investigations, the Black Earth deputies hold several community events throughout the year, including Coffee with a Cop, recreational programs for the kids, and more. The restrictions of COVID 19 have put a damper on any events, but the future holds many opportunities for more interactions.
