Updated Information on Town of Blooming Grove Stabbing

Madison, WI. January 9, 2009 – At approximately 11:43 am, Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the American Best Value Inn in the town of Blooming Grove to investigate a stabbing, which occurred on a frontage road outside the hotel. Middleton Police were contacted after the victim, a 31-year-old man, had been transported to an address on Elmwood Avenue by a friend. The victim was then transported to Meriter hospital where he is currently being treated for non-life threatening injuries. A suspect has been identified by the victim. Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies continue to investigate the incident, and further information will be provided as it becomes available. ***UPDATE*** January 12, 2009 – The suspect in Friday’s stabbing incident in the town of Blooming Grove remains at large. Detectives with the Dane County Sheriff’s Office are looking for Terrence D. Mayhorn, age 32 of Madison. Mahhorn is also wanted on several other warrants for nonsupport and violation of a domestic abuse order. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911. The victim in the stabbing was treated and released from a local hospital the day of the incident. ###
