HIRING SUPPLEMENTAL DEPUTIES
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is eliminating the Off-Duty Employment
authorization system, which allowed groups or individuals to contract with
individual deputies for law enforcement services.
Beginning January 1, 2013 law enforcement services provided by Dane County
Deputies will be contracted and coordinated through the Dane County Sheriff’s
Office Supplemental Employment system.
When requesting law enforcement services under the Supplemental Employment
system you will need to fill out the
“Dane County Sheriff’s Office Application and Agreement to Hire
Supplemental Employment Deputies” form.
You may also obtain a form by contacting Julie O’Dair at 284-6053. The
form must be submitted to Julie O’Dair at least 10 days prior to your
event. When submitting the application and agreement you must also submit proof
of insurance in the amounts listed.
Requests for law enforcement services under this system will be coordinated by
Julie O’Dair and managed by Lt. Kerry Porter. Please read over the enclosed
form for the details on costs, staffing and insurance. If you have questions
please feel free to contact Julie O’Dair or Lt. Kerry Porter at the numbers or
email addresses listed on the form.

be available, and short notice makes staffing events even more difficult.
